Artist Frederick Childe Hassam

Frederick Childe Hassam was born on October 17th, 1859 in Dorchester, Boston. Although he was especial bright, institute was not for him and he dropped away before he graduated. He knew art was what he loved and he straightaway began fascinating classes at the Lowell Institute. While he was there he began a career in illustration and watercolors. In progression to settle himself down college he took an apprenticeship at a wood engravers shop. Hassam's gallery in Virgin York city was on Fifth Street, it was there that he father the subject of his most famous paintings, the 22 Flag paintings. His inspiration came from a parade that traveled down the avenue for Cosmos War conflict 1. He divided his time between that gallery and a native in East Hampton, where he died when he was 75.
