What is Ablutophobia
What is ablutophobia? With so many different phobias out there, it will come as little surprise that there is a phobia that refers to people who are afraid to bathe, or wash. It might seem strange, but ablutophobia is a real phobia that people do suffer from. Symptoms that can occur in people suffering this type of phobia are not too unlike those suffered from individuals who suffer from other types of phobias. Common symptoms include breathlessness, anxiety, nervousness, and dizziness. There are others that people can exhibit, but these ones are the more probable ones for this phobia. What causes ablutophobia? While it can occasionally come about from no apparent cause at first, more often than not ablutophobia is usually caused by a traumatic experience the person had when they were younger.

Seasonal Affective Disorder
Seasonal affective disorder, otherwise known as SAD affects many people every year. This type of depression is often found among those who go through bouts of depression that seem to occur in a pattern related to the seasons and time of year, hence the name seasonal affective disorder. Winter appears to be the season to bring on seasonal affective disorder as a result of the lack of sun and the cold, dreary whether. For this reason it is found to affect people more in the northern climates where there are longer periods of dark, cold and long winters. How does a person determine if they are suffering from seasonal affective disorder? Well, there is always the option of searching the internet for some information about SAD to get a better understanding about it and its symptoms.
Friends, Not Part of My Destiny To Ever Have One
Over a dozen years ago I had a best friend named Phillip. We both worked for the same company and when we first met we could not stand each other. Our boss was making us work together on things and over time we found out we had a lot of things in common and for the next 3 years Phillip was my best friend. Whenever I needed someone to talk to he was there and vice versa plus we would go bowling together about once a week and we both enjoyed SciFi shows like Star Trek. During this time I had left my job and started my own company. Phillip and I had made a mutual agreement that if he became interested in a lady that worked for me he would not pursue a relationship with her as this might cause future problems Several years later Phillip did become interested in a lady that worked for me and Phillip took me aside and asked for permission to date this lady.
Are you scared of aging?
While it is understandable that most people have a natural tendency to feel uncomfortable with their own aging and mortality, there are a few in the crowd who are horrified by the natural process to the point of having a phobia. The phobia where people are terrified of aging is called gerascophobia. Though, to say it is simply a fear of growing old can be a little deceiving. Gerascophobia is perhaps more the fear of what can happen to a person when they grow old. It could mean a loss of independence they value, the wrinkles they will develop, the loss of hair (mostly in the case of men), any diseases that can come from aging, or even a retirement they don"t know what to do with.
Parents, babies and frustration
There comes a time in many people"s lives when they find that special someone. They date, they get married and then they can"t wait until they have a little bundle of joy. Many have claimed that the first kid is usually the hardest. This is probably true. After all, it is the couple"s first child and they have never raised one before. Doubt can arise during the nine months, but in the end the child arrives and it starts. While newborns can be incredibly cute, they can cry lots and demand nothing but attention from you for the first little while. Think that is over after the first few months? Think again. Ever heard of the terrible twos? Well, parents who have had their first kid are probably well aware of what all that is about.
Psychotic depression
People who suffer from psychotic depression often start seeing, or hearing hallucinations that can leave them frightened for their lives. Apparently, many patients who suffer severe episodes of psychotic depression can become suicidal. More specifically, people with this type of depression will display increased anger and/or frustration, hear things and/or see things that are not actually there, have a feeling of hopelessness, and/or think about or attempt suicide. As a result of some of these symptoms, it can be mistaken by non-professionals that the person is either suffering from bipolar disorder or schizophrenia; however, a trained therapist or counselor can often tell the difference and will usually be able to give the proper treatment to the patient.
What is Counseling
Imagination can be a wonderful thing, but it can also cause some people to be mistaken about what something actually is. Where counseling is concerned, thanks to Hollywood and well written books, people who have never been to counseling think you go in, sit on a couch and talk while some guy with a notepad takes down notes about you. Counseling is not entirely like that. Basically, counseling is where a professional will give advice, opinions or direction based on what the patient has discussed with them. In some ways, a counselor could almost be seen as a guide. Counseling is done in an informal and comfortable environment where the patient is free to discuss what bothers them.
What is therapy?
Before understanding what therapy is about, one must first understand what the word means. As is the case with many medical terms, therapy was derived from a Greek term and is the attempt of treating a problem a patient is diagnosed with. In plain and simple terms, therapy means treatment. Treatment can take the form of certain prescriptions or exercises, depending on the problem. What are the specific forms that therapy can take? Believe it or not, there are so many types of therapy a person could easily write a book on it. There are therapies that deal with both mental and physical issues. Therapies that deal with the psychological aspect include art therapy, behavioral therapy, cognitive analytical therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, counseling, and occupational therapy.

When you first awaken, your mind is slowly leaving the delta state, (low brain wave frequency) where it is most easily influenced by mental suggestion. In other words, your mind is most open - and what you put in it will stay in it, until at least the end of the day. It is for this reason that often, if you are awakened by a sound or a song, you may be able to easily recall it again and again throughout the day (even if it"s a song you cannot stand!
